The Appalachian Trail Museum has signed an agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, owner of the Mansion, to operate the Mansion beginning in 2020. The Mansion is located within Pine Grove Furnace State Park, a short distance from the Museum. Larry Luxenberg, founder and President of the Museum, said: “The Museum was founded by A.T. hikers. Our goal is to operate the Hostel in a way that is as friendly to hikers as possible. To this end, we will expand the hours that the Hostel is open. We’ve sought input from all people who love the Appalachian Trail and the outdoors. We’ve also listened to input from other important constituencies like our friends at Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association (ALDHA) and Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC).”
The Hostel is available for special events as well, including group meetings, weddings, scout troops, workshops, etc. Complete information is available on our website. Interested parties can contact the Mansion at [email protected] or 717-486-4108.
