How would you like to have one of your photos become part of our Children's Exhibits in our newly renovated Basement Children's Area?
If you have good photos, that you would like to donate to the Museum for use in our exhibits, keep reading. Below is the list of photographs that we need by September 4 in order to stay on track to install GA and TN by Columbus Day weekend. Your help is appreciated. To complete the panels for Georgia and Tennessee we need: 1. Original photographs: hard copy minimum size 6”X8” or electronic file minimum resolution 300 dpi. 2. Name of owner of the photo as they want it to appear in the credit line: Courtesy of _________. 3. Written permission (email is fine) from the owner to “use the photo for exhibit and promotional purposes in the A.T. museum.” Please use those words. Photos needed: Classic photo of a section of the AT in the woods with a blaze Plaque on Springer Mountain Trail thru Neel Gap Roan Mt in full bloom Ramps along a section of the Trail Single ramp with roots attached or a clump of ramps close-up Image needed: Section of elevation profile in GA Optional photos: Steep section of trail Over-loaded hiker on the trail Ramp eating contest We will be needing many more photos as we develop all the different display boards covering the whole trail in all 14 states, so if you have something you think would look great in our exhibit, but isn't on the list, send it to us. Who knows, your special photo may become a part of AT Museum History. I will send out more requests as we decide on what photos we want for each display board. Send electronic photos to manager@atmuseum.org and hard copies to: AT Museum C/O Joe Harold 2302 231st Pasadena, MD 21122 The volunteer team of Alan Strackeljahn, Jim Foster and Joe Harold have dedicated a large number of hours to update the current website to a fresh and expanded platform. We are confident that our visitors will enjoy their visit to our Webverse museum.
After diligently moving the huge amount of content that Alan had put together over the last decade, the team built the new site one step at a time. Some new content and functions were added and everything was consolidated and arranged for easy navigation. The new website has an extensive Online Museum where a visitor can find lots of interesting historical information about the people who hike the trail. We also are developing an Online Store where a visitor can purchase the things that we sell at our little retail gift shop at the Museum, no matter where they are in the world. We also still have our Support page, where you can help us realize our dream of expanding the physical museum throughout the Old Grist Mill's four floors. Please come check out our new website. The address is the same: www.atmuseum.org Thanks, AT Museum Website Team |
