HERE's an online taste of our Childrens Museum, where we tell the story of the A.T. for young people.

Feature Articles

The Feature Article section is a collection of stories from the Appalachian Trail that are of interest to the Museum and the trail.  

They consist of personal accounts, biographies, videos and articles written for and about the Appalachian Trail.  

If you have an article you have found or written about the trail or the hikers who travel it, send it to us at: [email protected], so we can include it in this feature of the Online Museum.

Journal Project

The Journal project collects the tales of the hikers who have traversed the trail.  Their trails and ordeals as they make their way, northbound or southbound, to their final destination of their journey.  

If you have a journal you would want to have included in our Online Museum, send us a link or electronic copy to [email protected].  

Shelter Registers

HERE you will find find copies of actual Appalachian Trail shelter registers from bygone days.

If you have full shelter registers and want them to be cared for an saved, send them to the AT Museum at our address on our Contact page.  

If you have a digital copy of a shelter and want it included in this Online Museum, send it to [email protected].

Hiker Yearbooks - Exhibits

The AT Museum has gathered some stories and pictures from some of the Classes of Hikers who have hike the trail.  Read about these hiker's journeys.  


The Yearbooks/Exhibits tell their stories.


If you want to see your Class Year represented in the Online Museum, please send your stories, pictures and anything else you can think of to [email protected].
Our photo collections show the Appalachian Trail and those who visited The Trail in years gone by. 

These collections show the hikers as they meet the people of the trial and experience the beautiful wonder of the Appalachian Mountains.  

If you have vintage photos that you would like to donate to the Appalachian Trail Museum please send them to [email protected] and include as a description for each photo in the email text.
