After months of planning and reviews (and a pandemic), the Appalachian Trail Museum’s project to create an interactive relief map of the Appalachian Trail is becoming a reality. The museum contracted with Graphik Masters of York, PA, to design, fabricate, and install the exhibit and with Howard Models of Toledo, Ohio, to create the map. South Mountain Partnership, Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau, the Miles Fund of the Mountain Club of Maryland, and numerous private donors generously supported the project. The map will be transported to York later this month, where its interactive, electronic features will be added. Installation on the second floor of the museum is now being planned. We will make an announcement when the map is ready to be viewed. | |
