Join the Appalachian Trail Museum for a 2pm program on Sunday, July 4th presented by Nimblewill Nomad! Nimblewill Nomad is an elite status hiker and fantastic storyteller. He is one of only two people to have thru hiked all 11 National Scenic Trails in America, multiple National Historic Trails, and more! This year, Nimblewill Nomad is hiking from Alabama to Baxter State Park in Maine (home of Mt. Katahdin) to bring awareness to the Pinhoti Trail, a long distance trail in Alabama and Georgia. Tickets are now on sale for the 2021 Appalachian Trail Hall of Fame Banquet. The Banquet will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021. The Banquet will return to the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, located at 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA. The evening will begin with a reception at 6 pm, with dinner to follow at 7 pm. Ticket prices remain the same as in 2019, $40.00 for Museum members and $50.00 for non-members. There are four ways to purchase tickets:
Sandi is President & CEO of Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Previously, she had been Chair of the Board of ATC since 2013. Sandi is a past president and honorary life member of Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and has been an A.T. maintainer for more than 30 years. She served on the ATC Board of Directors from October 2008 until becoming President & CEO and had chaired the membership and development and strategic planning committees. She previously served on the ATC Board of Managers from 1999 through 2005. Larry Luxenberg, founder and President of the Museum said: “We’re so happy that Sandi has agreed to again be the M.C. of our Banquet. After a one-year gap due to the pandemic, we’re looking forward to honoring the latest inductees to our Hall of Fame. The 2021 Banquet will honor the Tenth & Eleventh Classes of the Appalachian Trail Hall of Fame. The Tenth Class is Chris Brunton, Warren Doyle, Thurston Griggs and Walkin' Jim Stoltz. The Eleventh Class is Harvey Broome, Stephen Clark, Thomas Johnson and Marianne Skeen.
