1983 Full Goose Shelter (Maine)
Below are links to images of each page of a 1983 Shelter register obtained from the Full Goose Shelter in Maine, a few miles North of the boarder between New Hampshire and Maine. It is a unique register due to the fact that it is one of the first registers in Maine for Northbounders, and is remote enough that most entries are from Thru-hikers only. It also contains Southbounders who have made it all the way thru Maine, almost 275 miles. The Register begins with an entry by Thru-hiker Gregory D. Silla, a southbounder who signed before the owner of the register, Tom Sitz, who left the register on July 23, 1983 and ends with an entry on September 25, 1983. Which covers a good majority of the hikers who passed through the shelter courtyard. The shelter was directly on the trail, so most hikers stopped to sign before entering Mahoosuc Notch, or taking a break after the Notch. This register was provided by Tom Sitz.
